Jordi has been Adopted!!!

My name is Wendy and boy, do I feel like a million bucks! I am a 10 year old purebred German Shepherd and I am an import from, well, um…Michigan. My owner moved to Wisconsin in hopes of finding better employment opportunities. Went we first got here he put us in a boarding facility and searched for a job and a place to live for all of us. He did not have much luck in either regard and surrendered us to the kennel folks. We were there for 4 long months.
Then Badgerland came along and took us in. I say us because the folks at Badgerland couldn’t leave my pal Jordi behind even though he looks nothing like a German Shepherd. And he’s not as smart as me either! Jordi has been placed in a more active home than what I hope to find. I just want to be with my people. Other dogs are OK, but they don’t give out belly rubs, ear tickles, and treats.
At first when I was in foster, my mom’s would say that I was a stalker; they couldn’t go anywhere without me following them. Now, they have affectionately nicknamed me “Wendy in the Way” because I have this uncanny ability to know just where they want to be doing something and “poof,” there I am.
When I checked into the doggie hotel I weighed in at 121 pounds. Way overweight for a gal of my size. I could barely get up from lying down. The folks at the hotel helped me lose 10 pounds and my foster moms have me on a diet and exercise program and have me down to about 90 pounds. I feel like the weight of the world has been lifted off my paws. I have much more energy and love to go for walks. I will even tell you when I think it’s time to go for a walk!
I do have low Thyroid, which didn’t help my weight problem, but it is now controlled with an inexpensive medication that I take twice a day.
Even though I know my foster mom’s would be willing to let me live my life out with them, I would rather find a new home so they can help other dogs like me that need them as much as I did.
I will be your constant & loyal companion. I promise!
